Our experienced catering staff will endeavour to meet the dietary needs of our service users.
Cedarwood is a classic 1930’s residence carefully converted into a nursing home of 32 beds. Many of the single and double rooms have en-suite facilities. All rooms have nurse call, the latest fire alarm and smoke detector systems and television points.
85% of the rooms are on the ground floor including a fully air-conditioned lounge, which provides cool comfort during hot summer days. The two further lounges, dining areas and hairdresser’s room are also on the ground floor. For those wishing to spend some happy moments outdoors there is a large paved patio with easy wheel chair access and good facilities set within the grounds of the home.
The efficiency of the housekeeping department is of major importance to us and we work hard to maintain the highest standard possible.
Many other excellent facilities are provided within the home, including a five-person lift to the first floor. Our Parker Baths remove so much of the hardship associated with taking a bath. These together with three shower rooms, shower trolleys & chairs and disabled toilets help to enhance the comfort of staying at Cedarwood. We also provide full in house laundry facilities.
All meals are prepared on the premises by our dedicated and experienced catering staff. We provide a fortnightly rolling menu plan to eliminate 'menu fatigue' and are more than happy to cater for individual requests and any special diets. All menus are under constant review by our Head Cook.
Northamptonshire County Council operates a quality-monitoring scheme called the 'Rose Standard Accreditation' scheme. This system works similarly to the star rating for hotels with care homes being rewarded between one and four roses. We are very pleased that Cedarwood Nursing Home is accredited with the maximum rating of 4 ROSES.
At Cedarwood Nursing Home we offer single and shared rooms. We understand that some prefer the independence of a single room whilst others prefer companionship in shared accommodation, but all are ensured privacy and discretion. Each room is tastefully decorated and we encourage our residents to make their rooms as comfortable as possible by introducing their own items of furniture, ornaments etc., making their accommodation individual to them.
