Cedarwood Nursing Home aims to provide its service users with a secure, relaxed and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort is of prime importance.
Our staff members aim to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all service users within a warm and caring atmosphere and in doing so will be sensitive to the service users ever changing needs.
We offer training for our staff to deliver care for people suffering from various conditions including the following:
We also care for registered blind. We take clients from the age of 50 years upwards, younger than 50 years by special arrangements and all clients subject to assessment. We provide palliative care. We also provide respite care.
We also train our staff on fundamental issues, such as meeting the clients' personal hygiene needs, oral care, pressure area care, catheter care, PEG feeding and safe moving and handling of clients. All of our health care assistants have either completed their NVQ level 2 or 3 or currently working towards completion. As you can see, we are very dedicated to giving our clients the highest possible standard of care.
These needs may be medical / therapeutic, (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional, and social.
The service users are encouraged to participate in the development of their individual care plans in which involvement of family and friends may be appropriate and is greatly valued.
We endeavour to meet our service users' varying degrees of social activity needs via our programmes of leisure activities, hobbies and pastimes designed to encourage mental alertness, self-esteem and social interaction with other service users.
At Cedarwood we place great emphasis on the 'Core Values of Care' that are fundamental to the philosophy of our Home:
